The ANZNN Clinical Practice Improvement Conference is back in 2018 (CPI2018). CPI2018 brings together nursing, medical and allied health professionals from across the ANZNN member network to share knowledge and foster collaboration for clinical practice improvement within neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Founded in 2016, the conference attracts delegates from every member unit as well as local and international guest speakers. This year we aim to build on last year’s clinical practice outcomes and set new and ambitious targets to improve the quality and safety of newborn care within our NICUs!

Delegates will meet at the John Niland Scientia Building within the grounds of UNSW Sydney. CPI2018 will be structured over two days. Day 1 will feature international and local guest speakers who will each conclude with a Q&A session as well as abstract presentations from member units. The conference dinner will be a chance to relax, network and catch up with colleagues and will be held at Dockside, Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour. Day 2 will feature an interactive program with seven breakout sessions, with each breakout session focusing on a priority subject area for NICU clinical practice improvement. Interactive poster sessions will also be included during the two-day program. Throughout the two days we hope delegates will examine evidence and discuss implementation strategies at the bedside.

This year we have moved accommodation for sponsored nursing delegates into the Sydney CBD, enabling easier transport to the conference venue and walking distance to the conference dinner. The Grace Hotel is centrally located within walking distance of major attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Rocks, Circular Quay, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Darling Harbour.

To encourage nursing attendance and participation we have again subsidised the conference fees and accommodation for sponsored nursing delegates. However, please note that CPI2018 is not an "open" conference; nomination of delegates must be provided by ANZNN NICU Directors only.

Save the dates Sunday 9 to Tuesday 11 September 2018, and we look forward to seeing you here! Please contact us at for more information.

International Family Integrated Care Conference

The ANZNN is also co-hosting the International Family Integrated Care Conference on 8-9 September. Invited speakers from Canada, Finland, United States, the United Kingdom and Australia will share their experiences of Family Integrated Care from a variety of settings. This will be held at The Grace Hotel. Please contact Joanne Sheils or Alyson Ottaway for further information.
